Vintage Posters – 38: Brenham

Brenham, Texas is the place for spooning under the starry night sky. So, naturally, I wanted to make a poster of it. (Scroll below for more commentary and click to view the image larger).

This poster is done with a vintage tone, stripes of pink and teal, and a weathered effect to show some age. The ice cream scoop here is made with a crazy amount of effects and texture things that I would typically cringe at if I saw someone else doing it. It is here for the town’s favorite, famous company – Blue Bell Ice Cream. Legend has it that George W. Bush had Blue Bell brought to the White House during his terms. Sertinos Cafes in Texas carry Blue Bell.  People take trips to tour the facility as if it were a museum 🙂  That’s pretty special, and the town is, too. The tag line reads “Scoop up the fun in Historic, Caloric Brenham – Deliciously Contributing to Texan Obesity Since 1843.”
